"Steep Learning" My pardody of Microsoft's new Artificial Intelligence Program
July 17, 2014
Microsoft has launched a new AI program called, "Deep Learning" that can use visual recognition technology to tell the difference between different types of Corgi dogs, or the nutritional value of certain foods by looking at them, or even if a skin rash is cancer or something less serious.
All of that sounds amazing to me, but I also recently heard that a shocking number of people don't know how to use maps any longer because of GPS. And search means our opinions are tainted by the biases of our past searches, versus always being able to learn something new. Basically, while I think the tech is great, it's also apparently making us more stupid.
